Constructing a Novel

Writing a novel is much like constructing a house. You start with a blue print and then build until your masterpiece is done. Like many houses, there may be issues on the way, not enough cement for the foundation, a lack of workers to construct. When writing, we often begin with a wonderful blue print that lays out the idea for a best seller. Everything looks wonderful and you can't wait to start writing (building), but when you begin you realize that you are missing a few things, a main character, enough details, writers block. Sometimes you have to edit your blue print several times until it's right, but when you have all your tools in front of you everything is ready to begin construction on your novel.

Finally, you've finished your masterpiece. Any buyers!
